Middle Alabama Area Agency on Aging (M4A) was designated, pursuant to the Older Americans Act (OAA), by Governor Guy Hunt as the Area Agency on Aging for Region 3 in the Birmingham Regional Planning District in 1989.
The counties served are Blount, Chilton, Shelby, St.Clair and Walker counties.
The multi-jurisdictional agreement further empowered M4A to take all actions necessary to fulfill the requirements of the Older Americans Act and to address the concerns facing aging individuals in the M4A service area.
